Welcome to the Torrens Quartet, an Adelaide-based string quartet dedicated to providing exceptional live music for weddings, corporate functions, and special events.
Having performed together since 2020, we have developed a cohesive ensemble sound and a shared passion for creating memorable musical experiences. As graduates of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, we combine professional musicianship with a genuine love of performance, ensuring every event is both polished and personal.

Meet the Team
Ebony Kitson
Ebony began playing violin at the age of four and completed a Bachelor of Classical Performance with first class Honours at the Elder Conservatorium in 2023, studying under Dr Elizabeth Layton. As a performer, Ebony has extensive experience across a wide range of settings, including weddings, private functions, national music camps, bush dances, baroque ensembles, and in contemporary and traditional church services. She enjoys the versatility of string performance, from intimate chamber music to vibrant folk-inspired repertoire, and is passionate about collaborative music-making as part of a string quartet, creating memorable live music experiences for a wide range of events.

Tim Shephard
Genre-defying violinist and vocalist, Tim Shephard, is an active performer across Adelaide’s jazz, swing, country, pop and classical scenes. Heralded for his musical versatility, Tim has performed with iconic Adelaide groups, such as The 60 Four and Boombox Bootscoot. Currently undertaking Jazz Honours at the Elder Conservatorium, studying under Dr Julian Ferraretto, Alex Taylor, and Mark Ferguson, Tim continues to develop his craft, leading ensembles and showcasing his original music at Creative Original Music Adelaide (COMA) where he was awarded as an Emerging Artist in 2025. Offstage, Tim is a passionate string teacher and lay clerk at Christ Church North Adelaide.

Clara Gillam Grant
Clara began playing cello at seven. She went on to study classical performance at the Elder Conservatorium in Adelaide, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2023. Since then, she has played locally, interstate, and internationally, including with State Theatre, Australian Youth Orchestras, Southern Cross Symphony, Restless Dance; at festivals across Australian including WOMADelaide and Nannup Music Festival, and countless weddings, events and recitals. Clara is also a passionate music educator and cross-genre collaborator, and regularly performs and records with folk and experimental acts.

Elinor Warwick
Elinor Warwick is a violinist and founding member of the Torrens Quartet. A graduate of the Elder Conservatorium, she has performed with ensembles across Australia and has a particular passion for chamber music and historical performance. Alongside performing, Elinor is the quartet's Admin Manager, overseeing client communications, bookings, contracts, and business operations. She enjoys helping clients bring their vision to life and works to make every step of the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
